My impression of your study of Puritanism
Whew! It's almost over. Overall, you made a valiant effort in trying to set aside your preconceptions and judgements of the Puritan writers in order to objectively examine their literature. As primary sources, you got the best and the worst of it: their passion, their attempts to reach a wider audience, their prejudices. Many of you noted their lasting influences that you expect to see or still do see in America and our literature: religion, freedom, plain style, prejudice, hard work, perserverance, change. Good work on the blogs!
